Hallmark's Christmas in July 2026: Four Brand New Movies to Get You Through the Heat

Hallmark's Christmas in July 2026: Four Brand New Movies to Get You Through the Heat

It was 94 degrees at our house last week, and I had hot cocoa on the stove. David gave me a look. I gave him one back. Because if Hallmark can premiere brand new Christmas movies in the middle of summer, I can absolutely justify marshmallows in July.

And that's exactly what's happening. Hallmark Channel's Christmas in July event is back for 2026, running from June 26 all the way through July 31, and this year they're not just rerunning the classics. Four brand new original movies are premiering, one every Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET. If you've ever wished the Countdown to Christmas started about five months earlier, this is your moment.

Here's the lineup, according to TVLine's full schedule. Things kicked off on July 4 with Christmas Under Construction, starring Jessica Lowndes and Daniel Lissing. Then comes O Little Christmas Market on July 11, Snowbound for the Holidays on July 18, and Love Under the Mistletoe on July 25, with Jen Lilley and Nick Bateman. Every one of them lands on streaming the very next day on Hallmark+, so if your Saturday nights are already spoken for, you're covered on Sunday morning with your coffee.

I know what some people say about these movies. They're predictable. The big city executive always falls for the small town carpenter. The snowstorm always strands exactly the right two people in exactly the right inn. And you know what? That's the whole point. There is something deeply comforting about a story where you already know everyone ends up happy. The world gives us enough plot twists. Hallmark gives us a guarantee.

We wrote last year about why Christmas in July exists in the first place, and the short version is that people have been craving a midsummer dose of December for almost a century. Hallmark just figured out how to bottle it. They've been running this event for years now, and it keeps growing because it works. July is the exact midpoint of the wait. You're either five months past Christmas or five months away from it, depending on whether you're a glass half empty or glass half eggnog kind of person.

If you want to turn a premiere night into a proper occasion, we're big believers in leaning all the way in. String up some lights, even just around the TV. Make snacks that have no business existing in July. We keep our favorite cozy movie night finds on our products and deals page, and honestly, a good throw blanket in the air conditioning while it's blazing outside is one of life's stranger pleasures. Last winter we fell hard for Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, so we have a soft spot for a well-made holiday romance any month of the year.

There's also a practical angle here that I'll admit shamelessly. July is when the smartest Christmas people start planning. We've talked before about summer strategies for a spectacular Christmas, and a Saturday night Hallmark premiere is the perfect backdrop for starting your gift list. Two hours of snow-covered small towns will put you in the mood to get organized like nothing else can. Even Santa himself spends July preparing, so you'd be in good company.

Will these four movies change cinema forever? No. Will I be on the couch on July 11 with a candy cane mocha iced coffee, predicting the ending twenty minutes in and loving every second? Absolutely. Some traditions matter precisely because they ask nothing of you except to show up and feel good.

So set a reminder for Saturday night, or catch up on Hallmark+ the next day. And if you watch one, come tell us what you thought in our Facebook community, or sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of this page. We'd love to know which one wins your July.
